Nemysis develop effective nutritional supplements that don’t damage a healthy gut microbiome

Our three flagship products currently under development are all targeted at addressing nutritional deficiencies and malabsoprption syndromes whilst being gentle on the patients’ microbiome. IHAT – Nano Fe(III) harnesses nano technology to mimic normal delivery of iron to the gut for patients with Iron Deficiency, with or without Anaemia. E40 is a novel enzymatic approach to eliminate Gluten Intolerance and Gluten Sensitivity, as in Celiac Disease (CD) and Non Celiac Gluten Sensitivity (NCGS). E40 can break down the immunogenic fragments that occur when gluten has been inadvertently ingested. Our novel Matrix Delivery System is designed for gastro-protecting enzymes and other compounds from stomach acid and pepsin digestion, delivering these to the intestinal site of action.

Why is preserving the gut microbiome so important?

The gut microbiome is made up of trillions of bacteria, fungi and other microbe and plays a very important role in your health through helping control digestion, supporting the immune system and many other aspects of health. Many medicines can have a negative impact on the gut microbiome causing an imbalance in the unhealthy and healthy microbes in the intestines. This may contribute to weight gain, high blood sugar, high cholesterol and other disorders, including poor absorption of nutrients causing nutritional deficiencies.^1,2

Our Strategy for development has short and long-term objectives.

In the short-term our stepwise strategy focuses on early registration and product launches for IHAT and E40 – depending on territories as Novel Food supplements, “Food for Special Medical Purposes” (FSMP) or Medical Devices. In the longer term we plan to take our products to the Phase I-II clinical stage for partnering or out-licensing with a suitable partner.
